"Hey, let's go camping," Tom said, late Sunday afternoon. We had planned to go on Saturday, but I wasn't feeling well and we canceled it. One hour later we were in the car, heading to a campsite by the beach, in Sesimbra.

Usually when we drive up north in June, we drive in a rush, stopping only to sleep, and pray we don't pick up bed bugs in a random hotel. This summer we decided to do something different. We bought a new tent (fun fact: we bought our previous tent together in 2020 "as friends" and the rest is history), new sleeping pads, and a few other accessories.

The idea is that we're gonna stop on campsites along the way, decompress from the highway in nature. Maybe we'll even get a few hikes in.

After one night in the wild we agreed it was a success. Ready to roadtrip!

Last week ...

... I joined an AI hackathon as a mentor for two days. Fun! Not sure I could contribute a whole lot, but enjoyed being part of it.

... I published a new Between Deadlines: What happens when you don’t reply within five minutes. Maybe not the newsletter that will give me more clients, but an important one nonetheless.

... I struggled with some knee and quads issues, partly from a very intense workout the week before, but mainly walking/dancing in sand for hours last weekend.

... I started reading The Make-Believe by Hannah Murray. More thoughts when I finished it, but for now, it's truly a trip into both a spiritual organization and a psychosis.

This week ...

... is the last full week home in Lisbon before we drive north, so focus is getting everything in order. Work, work, hustle, hustle, and so on. Not too much else planned.

Happy Monday!
